After eight years of trial and error, the Strata hop was grown at Goschie and Coleman farms in the Willamette Valley, then featured in Worthy’s Strata IPA – the first brewery and beer to showcase this new multi-layered hop. The Strata hop was bred and developed at Oregon State University’s Aroma Hop Breeding Program, a collaboration with Portland-based Indie Hops. While Strata may sound tame in comparison to Eclipse and HBC 586, don’t be fooled. These late-addition hops are used the same day they are picked.
